HireVAna — a two-sided SaaS marketplace, built end-to-end.

 

Built in Django and Postgres, deployed on Cloudflare Pages behind Coolify — connecting Dubai brokerages with certified virtual assistants. Employer dashboards, matching engine, verification pipeline, and a certification academy that manufactures the supply the market can't source.

 The challenge 

A market with strong demand, unlimited generic supply, and no way to tell qualified operators from noise.

 

Dubai brokerages want offshore support — English fluency, Meta Ads Manager fluency, understanding of RERA processes, WhatsApp discipline. The Philippines has millions of VAs. But most existing marketplaces are LinkedIn slurry: filter-then-hope. Nothing certified against the actual skills a Dubai brokerage needs on day one.

 What we built 01 

### Django backend + DRF API

 

A modular Django app with 8+ domain apps (users, employers, VAs, jobs, matches, certification, billing, admin). Django REST Framework serves the SPA-lite frontend and the Android app. Postgres for relational data, Redis for cache + rate-limit, Celery for background jobs.

### Matching engine with trust scoring

 

Custom scoring pipeline ranks specialists against job listings by skills, tool-fluency, trust score, availability, and rate. Runs in Celery on job publish, refreshes hourly. Employer dashboard shows top matches with "match %" and "Trust N" badges.

 03 

### Certification academy inside the app

 

Course + module + lesson content model, in-app grading, badge issuance. Core-5 curriculum + specialist tiers (Paid Ads, listings, CRM ops, Arabic-market support). Certifications become filterable trust signals on the marketplace side.

 04 

### Identity verification via Sijil OCR

 

Government ID uploads route through the Sijil OCR pipeline (built in-house, separate product) to auto-fill VA profile and validate. Face-match layer on top. Employers see "ID Verified" badge only after both pass.

 05 

### Employer dashboard + billing

 

Full employer workspace: post jobs, review applicants, invite, message, hire. Stripe-backed subscription billing. Auto-invite modes ("Manual / Auto-suggest / Full-auto") with per-role thresholds. Coverage guarantee: 48h replacement SLA baked into the state machine.

### Programmatic SEO on Astro

 

Marketing site is a separate Astro build on Cloudflare Pages — location × service page generation, structured data (JobPosting, Organization schema), sitemapped indexing, IndexNow ping on publish. 12 programmatic pages + 5 editorial posts live and indexed.
